eastern oregon snowy mountains
woke up at 4:30 am yesterday to brave some snowy snowy roads and hustle over to little Cove, OR between the Wallowa and Blue Mountains for a day of hanging with the kids at the K-12 Cove School. absolutely incredible time. long adventurous days in their halls and classrooms talking music and art and life on the road. what a fantastic group of kids. really inspiring day. crawlspace dancers 2-24-11
then got to cap it off with a show at one of our absolute most cherished venues in the country — The Crawlspace //// La Grande, OR. doesn’t happen too often any more. but the doors to this sacred place were once again opened for what turned out to be a brilliant gathering of La Grandians and some outliers /// dance party!! what a beautiful day and night! thanks to Mr. G, Mr. McBride, everyone at Cove School that made us feel so welcome, Austin and The Crawlspace and Waypoint crew, Sons of Guns, World’s Greatest Ghosts and everyone that made it out last night. the rest of the story is in pictures below. show tonight at Visual Arts Collective in Garden City to help raise awareness and funds for Radio Boise — on air in April!! 89.9FM in the Treasure Valley. can’t wait. then off to Sun Valley tomorrow to wrap up our February NW tour with World’s Greatest Ghosts at the infamous Whiskey Jacques.

whoa. tour is officially off the ground. shows last week were soooo fun. first at the Silver Moon Brewery in Bend, OR where we met up with our buddies and labelmates CHURCH and they kicked the evening off. such a cool band. Bend treated us all great. but each night would just get better.
on Friday night we held the first of several album release parties for VS WILDERNESS at the infamous Crawlspace in La Grande, OR. this would, at least for the time being (sequel?), be the final show at the Crawlspace and the end of an era as our friends and cohorts in La Grande Bill and Annie (from TEST AUDIENCES) are moving to Alaska to pursue some new adventures. but spirits were high this evening and we celebrated in fine Crawlspace fashion.photo by Shaun Daniel the party was enhanced by special guests JARED MEES and YEAH GREAT FINE who made the trek from Portland for the evening. more photos and video to come, but in the meantime, Shaun Daniel posted some pretty rad photos. thanks to the whole crew in La Grande that makes that place one of a kind!
on Saturday night, the weekend culminated in a fantastic show at our homebase, the VISUAL ARTS COLLECTIVE with CHURCH once again and TALKDEMONIC. we played first and at the end of our set debuted the new video that Jason Sievers did for our song Wake. more on this to come and it should hit the internet in the next week or two. it’s awesome. so thankful for all of Jason’s hard work! the rest of the show was stellar. both Church and Talkdemonic destroyed. it was a truly epic show. and we were stoked to be playing at VaC again as it had been awhile…
we finished the weekend off with a backyard party in Bellevue, ID in our old stomping grounds in the Wood River Valley. Sheryll Mae Grace kicked things off with a fun set of her tunes. then as dark settled in we unleashed some rock music amongst the trees to a nice crew of friends dancing in the yard. flood lights on the trees above. cool fall evening. some more photos from this soon as well.
tomorrow VS WILDERNESS becomes available digitally exclusively through iTunes. the time has come. very excited to finally be sharing this album with you all. and the tour continues…
