hey doods.
had a great time in Vegas last weekend. posted some photos from the trip over on our Boise Weekly Blog. really enjoyed The Dodos set and all the flashing lights, but mostly the carpet patterns.
we’re hosting some friends we met on tour last spring out in the Northeast called Delicate Steve here in Boise (well, technically Garden City) next wednesday (mar 23rd). their debut album just came out on David Byrne’s label Luaka Bop and they’re currently tearing up SXSW and then are stopping here in the Treasure Valley on their way to jump back on tour with Akron/Family on the West Coast. super excited to have them here. very incredible band ripping stellar instrumental celebrations. must see to believe. (watch this video for a taste) and with our Portland friends Hosannas rolling thru on their way from SXSW we decided to turn it into a little mini-fest and added two of our favorite newer local bands Owlright and TEENS to the lineup. gonna have two stages of bangin tunez. tell your friends. wednesday party at VAC. all awesome. 21+ / 8pm / only $5
for more details and set times go here: 3/23 post-SXSW mini fest @ Visual Arts Collective
the Idaho Statesman wrote a nice article about it all today… check it out: love from Michael Deeds in The Scene
poster is below. spread the word. if there’s one show you don’t miss all year, make it be this one!
luv, gil

very honored to have been a part of this video collaboration between artist Jason Sievers (did the stop-animation video for “Wake”) and the Trey McIntyre Project (boise-based international modern dance superstars). originally released on DVD as part of the TMP’s 9+1 art installation back in December. now available online. features our tune “Box Elder” (off of A Soldier, A Saint, An Ocean Explorer) and a song by fellow Boise band Fauxbois called “Hearts A Radio”. check it out.
on our way to Las Vegas to play at the Neon Reverb Music Festival tonight with The Dodos, The Mumlers, Acheology and more at The Bunkhouse in old Vegas!!

eastern oregon snowy mountains
woke up at 4:30 am yesterday to brave some snowy snowy roads and hustle over to little Cove, OR between the Wallowa and Blue Mountains for a day of hanging with the kids at the K-12 Cove School. absolutely incredible time. long adventurous days in their halls and classrooms talking music and art and life on the road. what a fantastic group of kids. really inspiring day.

then got to cap it off with a show at one of our absolute most cherished venues in the country — The Crawlspace //// La Grande, OR. doesn’t happen too often any more. but the doors to this sacred place were once again opened for what turned out to be a brilliant gathering of La Grandians and some outliers /// dance party!! what a beautiful day and night! thanks to Mr. G, Mr. McBride, everyone at Cove School that made us feel so welcome, Austin and The Crawlspace and Waypoint crew,
Sons of Guns,
World’s Greatest Ghosts and everyone that made it out last night. the rest of the story is in pictures below. show tonight at
Visual Arts Collective in Garden City to help raise awareness and funds for
Radio Boise — on air in April!! 89.9FM in the Treasure Valley. can’t wait. then off to Sun Valley tomorrow to wrap up our February NW tour with World’s Greatest Ghosts at the infamous Whiskey Jacques.

more regional shows in early 2011 to be announced after the new year. look forward to seeing you all. in the meantime, if you missed our Daytrotter session please go have a listen… and if you feel so inclined, you can vote for one of our songs to be included in the Best of Daytrotter 2010… vote here
greatly appreciate all the support. lots of new exciting things on the horizon for 2011. we’ll keep you posted. thanks for such an amazing 2010!

Finn Riggins‘ latest, Vs. Wilderness (Tender Loving Empire), came out more than a year ago, but given that the Idaho band spends almost all of its time on the road, we’re surprised the trio even had time to shoot a video for album track “Dali.” MAGNET is proud to debut the cool, moustache-heavy clip below. View the Magnet article online.
